  • Shiprock, NM —The Navajo Department of Child Care and Development (DCCD) Casework Unit Office in Shiprock, New Mexico will be closed Monday, February 2nd, 2026 and Tuesday, February 3th, 2026, for staff training. Casework office hours will resume regular hours on Wednesday, February 4th, 2026.

    The Casework Unit office’s primary role is to collect documents and applications. The child care center in Shiprock will remain open.

    We appreciate the public’s understanding as we invest in staff development to better serve our families and our communities.

    The Department of Child Care & Development (DCCD), part of the Navajo Division for Children and Family Services (formerly the Division of Social Services), serves the Navajo Nation through five regional Casework Units. It provides childcare for children from birth to 13 years of age, with options including tribal and state centers, independent providers, and relatives. DCCD emphasizes health, safety, cultural connection, and informed family choices.
