Update to the Health, Education, and Human Services Committee (HEHSC) on the 477 Plan that DCFS is implementing and going live with as of October 1, 2025.

NDCFS presented a report to the Western Navajo Agency Council on September 13, 2025. The report includes the highlights and accomplishments from the division’s offices and programs.

The Navajo Nation has proclaimed the month of September, “Navajo Nation Recovery and Suicide Prevention Month.” This month also recognizes World Suicide Prevention Day, which is Sept. 10.

NDCFS welcomed relatives with physical and developmental disabilities to their own special event at the 77th Annual Navajo Nation Fair.

Public Law 102-477 is voluntary for Tribes and is intended to demonstrate how Indian Tribal governments can integrate employment, training, and related services to improve the effectiveness of those services, to reduce joblessness in Indian communities, and to serve Tribally determined goals consistent with the policies of self-determination.
