In partnership with the Navajo Nation government, the Navajo Division of Children and Family Services (NDCFS) hosted a notable community mohair and sheep wool buying event to support local families and promote traditional livelihoods.
Held on Navajo land, the event drew Navajo families from across the region, many of whom lined up to have their mohair and sheep’s wool evaluated and purchased by buyers. This initiative reflects the Nation’s ongoing commitment to economic sustainability, cultural preservation, and family empowerment.
President Buu Nygren and NDCFS Director Thomas Cody were on-site to personally greet families, ensure smooth coordination, and honor the hard work of the community members. Their presence underscores the administration’s dedication to engaging directly with citizens and fostering grassroots economic development.
This video captures moments of pride, tradition, and partnership, celebrating the resilience and craftsmanship of the Navajo people.
